Heard about the guy who's going to jump off Mount Everest?

Joby Ogwyn is an American Mountain Climber, Base Jumper and Wingsuit Flyer. This May, Joby will not only scale Mount Everest, but once he gets to the top, he's going to jump off of it in a wingsuit.

Joby is a very accomplished climber, starting his career when he was 18 by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Since then, he has become a member of the illustrious Seven Summits Club by reaching the peak of the highest mountain on each continent. He has climbed Everest itself a number of times including one amazing speed ascent in which he managed to summit the beast in 9 and a half hours.

His wingsuit experience is just as impressive. In 2009, Joby made the first ever wing-suit flight next to the north face of the Matterhorn, then in October 2010 he became the first man to fly next to Mt. Everest in similar fashion, landing at a world record of over 17,000ft. Most recently, in 2011, Joby accomplished the first ever wing-suit flight around all four faces of the Matterhorn.

This latest project is in conjunction with The Discovery Channel and will be televised live in May, yet no precise date has been chosen. The jump will be one of the most extreme stunts ever attempted as the 39 year old from Louisiana will leap from 10,000 feet, reaching speeds of 150 mph before arriving at Base Camp at the bottom of the mountain.

Watch the videos below to get a better feeling of how this whole thing is going to work, and keep an ear out for this in May.

Joby, fair play to you, mate. This is 10 out of 10 crazy.
