A rather peculiar marketing campaign for a 'real life' hoverboard has been released to the world. Complete with testimonials from Back To The Future's Christopher Lloyd, skateboard legend Tony Hawk, and even musician Moby.

The HUVr, as it is called, is seen being hovered? (I suppose that's the verb you'd use when you're talking about hovering a hoverboard, right?) by these well known figures. The HUVr, which is said to have taken its inspiration from a similar object seen in the iconic Back To The Future Movie, is the brainchild of HUVr Corp. And they have their own website and everything so it must be legit, right? Here's a snippet taken from their site:

'What began as a summer project in 2010 at the MIT Physics Graduate Program has evolved into one of the most exciting independent products to be developed out of MIT since the high-powered lithium-ion batteries developed by Yet-Ming Chiang in 2001. Our team consists of materials science, electricity & magnetism experts who've solved an important part of one of science's mysteries: the key to antigravity.'

So, ye've just solved that mystery, then? Antigravity. Come on now, lads, do ye think we were born yesterday, or what?

Here's a video of the lads taken it for a spin around a car park.

After watching the video it's fairly clear that these chaps are obviously taking the piss. But why?

Don't be trying to cod us, lads. We were rared on the fox's milk.
