Lionel Messi is getting his own movie, or more accurately put, documentary, about his life to date as one of the best footballers on the planet.

His story is one of triumphing against adversity to become possibly the greatest footballer in the world, and this evening he could well prove that with a game-winning performance against Holland in the World Cup semi-final.

That would truly cement his place in history for the national side, but as the trailer for this new documentary from Álex de la Iglesia says, the legend that is Messi started with a small dream years ago in his native Argentina. The movie talks to pivotal figures in his development, as well as huge stars from the world of football and management including Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano, Andres Iniesta and Cesar Menotti, as well as his current manager Alex Sabella.

Jorge Valdano, a fellow Argentine, is the man who penned the movie, and it is due to premiere later this month.
