If there's one thing that movies seem to have taught us about lifts, it's that nothing good ever really happens in them (don't be fooled by the Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling scorefest at the end, if you've seen Drive, you'll know that elevator gets very messy very fast). Mostly they're either locations for violence or breaks between violence. Note to self: bad things happen when you don't just take the stairs.
