Ever wondered what Ed Sheeran does in his down time? Well this is his 'audition tape' for The Notebook where we see him act out one of Ryan Gosling’s famously smoochy scenes. Obviously Rachel McAdams wasn't available so instead he roped in the next best thing - American pop singer Lance Bass - to read opposite him.
Don't get your hopes up that this could be some sort of big break that launches Ed Sheeran’s career as a movie star. He’s not so much acting as reading... with his interpretation of Ryan Gosling’s southern drawl from The Notebook. And the further he gets into the scene the more it kind of sounds like he’s trying to rap the lines. Well stick with what you know I suppose. Full marks for the green screen though.
