We've actually lost track of the amount of times that DMX has been arrested or involved with the law (seriously, his Wikipedia page is actually just a litany of offences and arrests), and now he can add another notch to his belt/bedpost/wherever he keeps track of it because we hope someone is.

DMZ was arrested last night in South Carolina and TMZ got their hands on footage of the event, full of screaming allegations of a set up as well as other expletives.

According to DMX, cops pulled over the car he was in for making an illegal turn (which he claims was perfectly legal). Then, cops said they found marijuana in the car and swiftly cuffed him before informing him that they were also aware of a warrant out for him from a previous case of driving without a license and that he was jail bound.

Cue X ranting and raving to no small extent to a female friend who was making herself busy catching the entire affair on camera.

'This ain't no normal traffic stop,' X screams. '18 cops, 5 cars, get the f**k outta here man. It was legal ... they got nothing.' DMX's stress is clearly audible at one point as he admits to 'sweatin' like a motherf**ker, yo.'

He was eventually taken to jail and is scheduled to face a judge sometime today. According to TMZ, he could be sentenced to 15 days behind bars for pretty much doing nothing, but should only serve 10 if he shows good behaviour.

According to the police, X smelled like weed and was drunk at the time of the arrest, with cops finding a bag of weed in the arm rest of his door and then three more bags under the driver's floor board. DMZ apparently was 'very aggressive with his words and was making multiple idle threats', which resulted in him being cited for weed and taken to the nearest jail to answer for the warrant.

Update: In a statement from DMX's rep Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services, X's version of events.

DMX was driving in the passenger seat when the vehicle he was in was pulled over last night. Although officers pulled them over for a minor traffic violation, DMX was asked to step outside so they can search the vehicle. Officers then claimed that they found bags of marijuana in the floorboard and arrested X. No drugs were found on DMX or the other passengers and the alleged bags of marijuana were never shown to DMX or the other passengers. DMX was released this morning at approximately 11am EST and is back at his home in South Carolina.
