There's been a huge reaction to the character "Dapper Laughs", played by comedian Daniel O'Reilly, and last night he spoke to Newsnight about the backlash that he's received.

Daniel O'Reilly saw his social media profile explode after he introduced the comedy character "Dapper Laughs" on Facebook, and in particular Vine, and he even managed to get himself a show on ITV 2 with the audience that he created. However, there has been a huge backlash against the aspects of his comedy that are seen as misogynistic, or that could encourage sexual violence.

As a result, ITV 2 decided to cancel his show, and he has been getting a lot of negative coverage in the media both in the UK and here, so last night he spoke exclusively to Newsnight on BBC about the reaction, and how he no longer plans to use the character.
