Recently, in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside area, two separate robberies took place at knifepoint which left the victims understandably traumatised.

The two victims were both wheelchair-bound and, in an attempt to gauge the public's reaction to wheelchair users in the area, the police came up with an ingenious method.

Staff Sergeant Mark Horsley went undercover as a wheelchair-bound person with cognitive difficulties to see what would happen if he approached people for help in various scenarios.

As you'll see in the video, it's pretty damn inspiring stuff.

Not one person shortchanged him or made any attempt to harass or steal from him.

By all accounts, he was there for a significant amount of time and gave people any and all opportunity to take advantage of him.

Vancouver's Eastside has something of a reputation, but from this video, it seems pretty clear that it's not at all justified.

Yes, it's cliched to say it, but this does restore a bit of our faith in humanity.
