The chase started after police responded to a reported shooting and saw the car speeding away from the scene, which led to the chase across Miami which went from suburb to highway to an on foot escape attempt. Seeing as he put so many people's lives in danger, he pretty much deserves the treatment he gets from police when he's eventually arrested.
