While Miley was sparking up and Katy Perry was busy being a glitter ball, Beyoncé was performing down under as part of her Mrs Carter Show World Tour and being an all-round hero to one girl in particular.
Sophie, who is blind and suffers from mild cerebral palsy, was at the concert thanks to her sister writing a letter to Beyoncé and her management seven months ago and saying that 'She's never really been able to go to a concert due to logistical reasons so I made a video about Sophie. Even with everything that she's been through, she's been able to do so much. She raised over $1000 for people with multiple sclerosis. I put that all in the video and I just said that I think someone as amazing as Sophie deserves to meet someone as amazing as [Beyoncé]'.
Seven months and some logistics later, Sophie is being sung to and singing with Beyoncé in front of 15,000 people. And now the world.
And people wonder why Beyoncé is our favourite.
