They chose not to include images of war, corruption, violence, and poverty. They also chose not to include the image of the naked human form you'll see in the below video. They did choose the music. 

According to Petapixel.com: "In 2012, 35 years after its launch in 1977, NASA's Voyager 1 space probe left the Solar System and became the first human-man object to enter interstellar space. On board is a Golden Record with sounds and images that show life on Earth. 116 images were selected for inclusion by a committee led by Carl Sagan."

First of all, you will be treated to lots of images of equations and complex physics, but stick with it. 

Sagan said: "The spacecraft will be encountered and the record played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space. But the launching of this 'bottle' into the cosmic 'ocean' says something very hopeful about life on this planet."

It does indeed. Let's just hope the aliens aren't too disappointed when they land.
