Please forgive the blurriness of the article image; it's kind of fitting given the subject matter. That aside, it's nice to see BBC reporter Quentin Sommervile get to have a laugh in the Middle East for a change.

He manages to get "Burning behind me is eight and a half tonnes of heroin, opium, hashish and other narcotics" before losing the plot entirely, which is impressive.

In a tweet that has since removed, Sommerville said: "Dear tweeps, it's been a year of bullets & bloodshed.You've earned a xmas laugh, at my expense."
