Today sees the retirement of one of the biggest legends of recent years at Barcelona football club, and the club put together a great tribute to him.

For years, Carles Puyol has been captain of Barcelona and led them through a period of unprecedented success, with league titles and Champions League medals to show for it, all while forming part of one of the most beautiful teams to play the game...in terms of style anyway.

With him not staying on at the club after his contract ends this summer, a whole host of famous figures in the history of Barcelona lined up to pay tribute to Puyol, from Louis Van Gaal to Pep Guardiola, and, interestingly, Luis Enrique, who many think will be named the new manager of the Catalan side this summer, with Tata Martino under increasing pressure.

A fitting tribute to the great man, and with a huge, title-deciding game coming up at the Camp Nou this weekend, perhaps Puyol will have one more medal for his collection before he heads off into the sunset.
