This amateur boxing match from the European Youth Boxing Championship in Zagreb, Croatia will be remembered for a long time, but not for what happened between the two fighters.

Rather, the clash between Vido Loncar of Croatia and Algirdas Baniulis of Lithuania stands out because of what happened after the referee called a halt to the fight, and Loncar wasn't very happy with that decision. The ref counts him out and sends him to his corner, despite Loncar being on his feet and showing the ref that he's able to defend himself and keep his guard up. Still, the ref ends the match, and then gets ready to announce the winner.

As you can see in the video (around the 1:10 mark) he returns from his corner to exchange a few words with the official, before brutally lashing out, clocking the ref with a direct punch to the head, and then viciously attacking him on the ground. After a few stunned seconds, everyone in the vicinity of the ring jumps in and someone manages to grab Loncar's legs and whip him out of the ring, but the damage had been done as the referee looked absolutely out of it once medical staff were able to get in and check him out.

There has been no word yet on official punishment, but Loncar will surely be looking at a very, very lengthy ban for his actions.
