This is the dream job for someone out there, and you even get a company car.

Despite the fact that they seem to be exclusively focused on making life as difficult as possible for themselves by only eating bamboo from which they derive very little nutritional value, pandas are ridiculously cute and humans seem have an innate desire to try to save them and help them. If that’s your life goal, then boy howdy do we have the job for you.

China’s Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Ya’an, in the Sichuan province has announced that they’re holding a competition where one lucky winner will be given the chance to work as a panda caretaker for a year. The prize will include a salary of $32,000 (above the average for the job), free room and board and an SUV for you to use, according to NBC News.

The daily duties would include looking after pandas, in particular old or disabled ones, participating in the research going on at the centre, and also blogging about the experience, which would probably include a few panda selfies.

The only restrictions for entry are that you must be at least 22-years-old and, of course, that you love pandas. Entries close on the 15th of July, so get your panda-themed cover letter in for your chance to become a "pambassador", which is just the most brilliant term we’ve ever heard of.
