Day two of the Tribeca Film Festival brings us the - wait for it - "debut of Karl Lagerfeld and Rachel Bilson's original film series inspired by Magnum Ice Cream" (Magnum being the trend today... and indeed every Friday this April).
OK, Largerfeld and Bilson joining forces 'cause they're not exactly rushed off their feet at the minute (the latter especially) is believable enough, but a series of films inspired by frozen chocolate treats? I am intrigued... Especially since the guest list comprises of bodies that don't appear to have familiarised themselves with frozen confectionary in about a decade (apart from this portly pair). While the bands in attendance are so cool they're no doubt unable to digest any freezer edibles. Have they all gone to ogle the consumption of something devilishly delicious that they daren't sample in the real realm? Or have they all gone to watch an "orty" depiction of hide the popsicle?
Answers on a postcard please.
Hang on, here's something from CNBC... apparently the films "offer a look into the pleasurable lifestyle Magnum ice cream has cultivated around the world for more than 20 years... In the sensory-rich film series - Rachel Bilson plays the heroine in three distinct vignettes(/ads). In Photo Mood, Ms. Bilson is a discontented famous model who finds the pleasure she's been seeking in the form of a smooth and delicious Magnum ice cream bar. Art Class depicts Ms. Bilson as an art student obsessed by her strong desire for a Magnum ice cream bar, and is then inspired to create a beautiful work of art as she satisfies her craving. The third vignette, titled Applause, features Ms. Bilson as a world-renowned ballerina who, when unexpectedly faced with an over-zealous throng of fans and the amorous embrace of her boyfriend, played by internationally renowned model Baptiste Giabiconi, evades them all to savor a moment for herself by enjoying a Magnum bar."
Aaaaah, right so. Makes perfect sense.
