We know what you're thinking. You're thinking "entertainment.ie, I love that it's Pancake Tuesday, and I love movies, but have those two things ever combined into something magical?"

Well, inquisitive reader, you're in luck! Turns out there are quite a few times when the Venn diagrams for pancakes and movies have crossed over. Here are our favorite five.

'AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER'

"Would you like a schmoke and a pancake? Flapjack and a cigarette? Cigar and a waffle? Pipe and a crepe? Bong and a blintz?" Does this scene make sense? No. Does it have to? No. Because it's still funny now, 17 years later.

'THE BIG LEBOWSKI'

The bad guys, or at least some of the bad guys from the bad guy filled 'The Big Lebowski', are big fans of a local eatery's Lingonberry Pancakes. We never get to see the food item, but if the toe-chopping Germans find them good, then they must be great.

'PULP FICTION'

Breakfast is how 'Pulp Fiction' begins, and breakfast is how 'Pulp Fiction' ends. And did you notice what it is that Vincent and Jules are chowing down on? That's right, pancakes! Although the fact that Vincent decides to order some bacon with his pancakes seems to upset Jules quite a bit. But hey, we're not here to judge.

'RAIN MAN'

Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man has a very strict regime, and part of that regime is to eat pancakes each and every Tuesday. Which is something we're considering taking up ourselves. However, he eats said pancakes with cocktails sticks, which is something we tried and ending up hurting ourselves with. We'll just stick to our knife and fork, thank you. Oh, who are we kidding? We use our hands.

'UNCLE BUCK'

Can you name any kid (or adult, for that matter) who didn't immediately want to recreate this scene in their own lives? No, no you can't.

HONOURABLE MENTION: '(500) DAYS OF SUMMER'

Break-ups are hard enough. Breaking up over pancakes, and then not even having the appetite to enjoy said food? Now that's tough.
