Tom Hanks may have a reputation as being one of the nicest guys in the business, but the same cannot be said for his niece.

Actress Carly Reeves' appearance on a US reality TV show has gone viral after she threw a huge tantrum following her elimination.

'Claim to Fame', which is hosted by two of the Jonas Brothers, sees relatives of famous people living undercover with a number of other housemates - but they must conceal the identity of their famous relative in order to stay in the game.

When one of Reeves' housemates guessed that she was related to the 'Forrest Gump' actor in the first episode of the new series, she stormed off loudly shouting about how unfair it was that a clue to her identity (relating to a bench) had been too "obvious".

Her housemates heard her yelling and crying in the bedroom, saying "His frickin' clues are so frickin' obvious. Why a bench?! Why a bench?! There’s literally no reference to benches on any other movie!"

She wails as she packed her bags: "I didn’t even get to do any challenges. I don’t deserve this. I should have more camera time. I should be aired longer!"

Reeves' mother is a sister of Hanks' wife, Rita Wilson.

Needless to say, he has not commented on his niece's newfound infamy.
