What's the first thing you do when you get out of bed in the morning?

Well if you're anything like us, it's slap the alarm clock, go back to bed for a while, slap the snooze reminder you've set, eventually get up and walk straight to the kettle to start brewing up a pot of live-giving coffee.

If that sounds familiar, then the Barisieur should be on your shopping list. It's an alarm clock that gently wakes you using the delicious scent of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of stainless steel balls boiling the water via induction.

While alarm technology has advanced a good bit and there's no more loud ringing or persistent beeping as there was back in the day, it sounds to us like nothing is going to beat the Barisieur for easing you into the day in the best possible way. Not only is it a great idea, but it looks absolutely stunning, and would occupy pride of place on your bedside table.

As the website states, it also encourages a routine before bedtime where you fill the filter with coffee and make sure you've added water, "signalling to the body and mind that it is time to unwind and relax".

Obviously, we'd be first in line to buy one, but unfortunately there's one small problem: only one exists. The project is the brainchild of Joshua Renouf, and he hasn't put it into production, and may never will. However, if he ever does, all we have to say is this:
