Robbie Keane is proving to be quite popular in LA. And all he had to do was step off a plane with a blonde on his arm. Only joshing, the assembled fans at LAX waiting to greet their new LA Galaxy player had obviously heard that it's been Keane's "childhood dream" to play for their team. Much like it was his childhood dream to play for Celtic. And his childhood dream to play for Liverpool.
The Irish Sun reports: "Ireland's record scorer (*titters*) with 51 goals, will be free to make his debut tomorrow against California rivals the San Jose Earthquakes. The Tallaght Terrior, 31, who will wear the number 14 jersey, will train today with his new teammates David Beckham and former Everton ace Landon Donovan before being officially unveiled to the world's media."
One could argue that the official unveiling has already happened, what with Keane's face being emblazoned across digital billboards in downtown LA. Any pressure Rob might be feeling should be soothed by the palatial surroundings of the mansion several agents are trying to locate for him, Claudine and their two-year-old son.
One such agent, Cliff Nichols, said: "I will definitely try and help Robbie find a property that would suit him. I am aware of where the Beckhams live. In fact I was in a restaurant with him the other day as he ate sushi (that's nice, thanks for that, Cliff). I have worked with lots of sports stars before and the key is to find a home they like." GET OUT, Cliff! Are you sure?!?
It's (obviously) being rumoured that the Robbie and Claudine are keen (hur) to live beside The Beckhams, so they can all become friends with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes - so they're looking for a price tag of between $6million - $20million for their new pad. For that amount, they can get a "world class estate on 20 Acres" in Beverly Hills. Apparently it's a " property that almost defies description". Almost. Here's the description:
