Looks like we might have outstayed our welcome.

There has been a bit of controversy stirring in Toronto as some fairly tasteless advertisements have been telling the Irish in Canada to get out of the country.

Signs saying "Go Home Irish!" have been placed around the city, and as if that wasn't bad enough, there's even been a website created called "pleaseleavecanada.com"

Now, before you all go jumping to conclusions, the Canadians are still very accommodating towards us, this has all been a misunderstanding of great proportions. As it turns out, the signs have been paid for by the Dublin advertising agency The Social House. Confusing, we know, but it seems like that was the plan all along.

"We are looking to hire Irish people who have worked in other parts of the world. We’re not anti-emigration, but we’d love to lure some of these internationally seasoned brains back home by pretending to be Anti-Irish-Canadians". It certainly got our attention anyway. And as it turns out, by clicking on pleaseleavecanada.com you'll be brought over to the company's website where you'll be greeted by this message.

To be fair to them, it was confusing, conniving, and downright mean, but it's not often you'll click-baited into finding an actual job prospect. And I know what you're thinking, "you've just done the same thing as them, making us click in to what is ostensibly a fake news story". To that I have only one response.
