Yes, you read that headline correctly.

In the most bizarre videogame soundtrack-related news, it was announced today Street Fighter II's fantastic soundtrack is getting a re-release. On vinyl.

The company behind the release, BraveWave Productions, have said they're going to be releasing further videogame soundtracks on vinyl and are beginning with Street Fighter II.

Entitled Generation Series (awesome name, btw), the vinyl releases will feature remastered and restored tracks, with the producers work with both world-class engineers and the original sound teams behind them.

There's no pricing available, but we're guessing it'll be quite expensive as this stuff doesn't come cheap.

Not only that, the Street Fighter II vinyl comes with extensive liner notes from the original composer.

Our favourite Street Fighter II track? Probably a tie between Guile's stage and Vega's stage.

Have a look at the packaging. It looks pretty sweet, in fairness.
