For Corkonians, the sign over BDSM has been a relatively new arrival - only being erected in 2013 - but it now looks like it's time is at an end.

The Evening Echo reports that the sign that hangs over the Black Dog Saloon and Mezcaleria - otherwise known as BDSM - is to be removed, following an official order from Cork City Council. The bar's owner, Benny McCabe, had applied to keep the signage in place, however the application was refused on the grounds that it would "contravene stated planning policy."

Speaking to the Evening Echo, McCabe explained that the sign is not going in the skip - but rather into the smoking area and beer garden. What's more, a competition is being held to design the replacement sign for the bar - so here's for something half as funny / witty as this.
