Admit it, your messages have been lacking a little patriotic zeal in all fairness.
According to a blog on emojipedia that sets out all the changes we can expect to see in the latest update to the emoji for OS X 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3, there will be a number of new animations for us to choose from the next time we want to add some fun to our Whatsapp messages.
As we reported already, there will be a much more racially diverse set of emoji, but there will also be updates to a few older animations and, most importantly, 27 new flags to add to your conversations. Amongst those new flags is our very own tricolour.

Those versions of the emoji were pre-released for developers to work with yesterday, but with iOS 8.2 only due in March, it looks like the flags won't arrive in time for Paddy's Day. Tragic.
