Look, a good bit of marketing goes a long way, but something tells us this particular one is a losing battle.

The Ku Klux Klan are not the most popular bunch of people in America, and there's not a lot they can do about that, given what their beliefs are. However, John Abarr, a KKK leader from Montana has decided that he wants to reach out to the people of his state and get a lot more members in through the door by...well becoming a bit more diverse.

He's decided that his branch of the KKK will welcome Jewish, Hispanic and African American members, but they'll still have to wear the white hoods that have become so synonymous with the movement.

Speaking to The Great Falls Tribune, Barr said that the old image of the Klan is one he was looking to move away from: "The KKK is for a strong America. White supremacy is the old Klan. This is the new Klan."

While Abarr hasn't said how many members there are in his particular group (known as the Rocky Mountain Knights), he is keen to point out that they won't discriminate, you just need to live in the Pacific Northwest and be over 18 years of age. However, given the reputation that the Klan has, he hasn't got an easy task on his hands, but he has been trying his best after he met with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) last year.

"I thought it was a really good organization. I don't feel we need to be separate", and he added that he is trying to organise a peace summit between the two groups at some stage next year. Abarr stated that his group is against a new world order or one world government, rather than being based on ideas of white supremacy.

While not being racist is admirable, obviously, we've got the feeling that we've seen this idea somewhere before... An advance warning, this clip contains some seriously NSFW language.
