A word of advice to people who partake in Crossfit. Don't.

But, if you really feel the need to do it, for whatever reason that I'll never be able to understand, don't go on social media and make a big deal about it.

And for those who won't take my advice, and are compelled to be the worst people in the world, just make sure you don't take photos of yourself working out in a holocaust memorial site like this guy.

Dave Driskell is a 'Crossfit evangelist'(they don't make it easy on themselves, do they?) who last weekend he put up some photos on his Instagram account of himself working out.

That's not too strange for him, as that's just about all he does, but this time he decided to do it at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. Real classy.

To be fair, he may not have known where he was, although we assume it's pretty well signposted.

He's since deleted the post, but not before some of his 70,000 followers saw it, which drew some pretty grim criticism when the not so kind sections of the internet picked up on it.

Driskell has since has an apology published by Buzzfeed. It's rare that an apology can make me like someone even less, but I think he's somehow managed it here. Still, as idiotic a thing as this was to do, he doesn't deserve to be torn down online. Mistakes happen, piling on with the hate won't solve anything, instead just vow to never try Crossfit.

"Id like to apologize for any offense the last picture I posted has caused. I had a quick layover in Berlin today with a good friend and we walked all around the city looking at and enjoying all the beauty it has to offer. We walked near this memorial not knowing what it was at the time. People were walking on the pillars. Kids running around. People sitting on them. It was gorgeous and looked visually stunning. As with all things like this I wanted a picture next to it, as I have been doing for years. I took a handstand picture with it as the background. I truly did not know what the structure was.

I feel completely terrible as I would never purposely offend or disrespect this memorial had I known. I posted the picture using the wifi from a local cafe and then went back to exploring the city. It wasn’t until later tonight at the airport that I realized my error in understanding what this structure was.

I’ve been doing handstands all over the world since I started this amazing wanderlust adventure that has inspired people all over the world.

Earlier this year I flew to India to help with a charitable event which raised over $24,000.00 to help the orphans and needy in India. I love to promote fitness and inspire people to do something different than the norm: To be epic. To be fit. To help others. To chase happiness. To show love!

I love all and strive to show that through my passions of travel and fitness.

Again I apologize for this horrible misunderstanding and any offense this might have caused.

Anyone who knows me, know this is the complete opposite of what I would want.

I respectfully ask your forgiveness

Dave Driskell."

Seriously? Sorry you guys, but everyone was doing it, even the kids, and I thought it'd look cool. And it was only a small part of the day, because I had loads of other cool and interesting things to do. Plus, have you not seen how cool I am? India, man. Now let me promote my sport and my brand for a while, ok? Oh yeah, again, my bad.

Here's some more photos of Dave being "epic" on "his wanderlust adventure that has inspired people all over the world".

It's going to another glorious day here in incredible Iceland. Blended up some @bulletproofcoffee this morning and soaked up a little of this brisk sunlight! We are getting some amazing weather while here and can't stop exploring. We all woke up sore as can be after our big weighted hike and the afternoon WOD which consisted of some heavy deadlifts, 75 KB swings @32kg, 75 deficit push-ups and 2000m of running. Back at it later today at @crossfitreykjavik before we go out to explore more of this amazing country. Game planning future training trips out to Iceland. To be of course more Viking! #bemoreviking Who's interested!??? #jointhefun #trainhard #beepic #getstrong #seetheworld #vagabond #vikingshit #wanderlustwods #wanderlustwod #wanderlust #iceland #travel #travelfit #bulletproofcoffee #bulletproof #menandcoffee
