With over 25,000 votes since polls opened last Wednesday, there's already a lot of competition as the race towards January's The erics heats up. Your fingers must be knackered from all that clicking. Fancy a quick update?

So far it's Les Arts that are getting you all in a flurry, with Best Irish Album and Best Irish Music Act, Best Theatrical Production and Stand Up Comedian all raking in the votes, with each category over 4,000 votes strong as of today. It's looking like a two horse race in both Album and Act, with Heathers and Delorentos fighting it out for top spot. So far Delorentos have edged ahead in the album stakes with their LP Little Sparks fending off Heathers' Kingdom. Meanwhile it's the Heathers girls who are holding strong at the top of Best Irish Music Act poll, with Delorentos not far behind. This looks like it might get scrappy (which we always love).

Best Theatrical Production is also seeing a massive fight for top spot, with the top 5 spots changing on a regular basis, all thanks to the efforts of Dublin's independent theatre groups. Currently vying for first place is The Boys of Foley Street and Monster/Clock, with ABSOLUT Fringe shows Death of the Tradesmen and The Life and Sort of Death of Eric Argyle close behind. You theatre voters really like your death.

We also have a lot of chirping in the Twitterati category, with @therealJimCorr and @IrishMammies pulling in the most votes so far. With choice words such as these, it's easy to see why.

And then of course, we have Bachelor and Bachelorette categories. It's anyone's race with the boys, with Bressie, Mick Flannery, Dylan Haskins, Riyadh Khalaf, Robert Sheehan and Rob Kearney all in close quarters. In the polls that is, not in real life. Although that would be something to see. As for the ladies, Wallis Bird is slightly ahead of Emma Quinlan, with Roz Purcell, Angela Scanlon and Daniella Moyles chasing them something fierce.

Do you have a favourite? Outraged they aren't miles ahead of the pack? Well what are you waiting for, get voting! There's still all to play for, as polls are staying open until January 9th, and then we have our big reveal at our first live Awards Ceremony on Wednesday January 16th. You did hear about that, right?
