Pubescent crooner Justin Bieber has admitted he was impressed by Britain's Got Talent contestant Michael Collings, which is nice. The 17-year-old watched Collings perform on YouTube along with a million other people, which invariably led Bieber to compare the contestant to Susan Boyle. Remember her? She found fame after auditioning for the 2009 series of the show.

According to The Sun, who have given this story top billing today, Bieber said: "He really was an amazingly talented guy. I am sure his life will never be the same again... It's a cliche but these shows were designed for people like Michael. You'd think, after Susan Boyle, people would be prepared for the unexpected. But I still don't think anybody expected that. I know we are only one show into the season, but I am guessing he must be a big favourite already."

19-year-old Collings, who lives in a "fancy caravan park" (they've got a bopper for the front gate by all accounts), was seen auditioning during Saturday's show and was put through to the next round after his performance of Tracy Chapman's track Fast Car.

I'm ashamed to say I missed it, what with me starting to feel a bit manky thanks to this stummy bug I've had for the last few days. Thankfully Beelzebub left the being late last night. In short, if you see a litany of rogue spelling mistakes it's because this is being typed in a bed surrounded by oodles of Lucozade bottles and the odd vat of flat 7Up.
