The new (part three) line up of the Sugababes must be going great guns now they've managed to free themselves from the shackles of Keisha, yeah?! Nay. That dreaded disease which plagues the celebrity world, "exhaustion", has now got Amelle within its grasp (Amelle's the one in the middle, in case you're losing track of things). The following comes from Heidi and Jade (she's the new, new... new one. The one on the left, there ) on the group's site:
"Unfortunately, Amelle has been forced to take an unexpected short break away from the pressures of work, following some professional medical advice earlier this week. For the next three weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision. We're expecting her to return to work in full health by the beginning of November… It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion."
The band's management team also released a statement, which reads: "Although this news will come as a huge disappointment to Sugababes fans, we really do have to treat Amelle's welfare as a priority at times like this. We have taken the advice of specialists whose job it is to bring Amelle back to full health. She has the love and support of everyone around her including family, friends, bandmates and the label and we are sure that fans will join us in wishing Amelle a speedy recovery."
As is this weren't enough explanation, Heidi felt the need to also input some words that weren't attached to Jade: "Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks. Having the opportunity to move forward with Jade was a major factor in us both deciding to carry on as Sugababes. And judging from the thousands of well wishes we have received from you, our fans, we are delighted that we made the right decision. However, the months leading up to that decision certainly took their toll, especially on Amelle, and it seems like it's now all caught up with her."
So, what Heidi's basically saying is: Keisha is the thundering devil spawn of Beelzebub. Weeeeell, she must be. How else can one explain Heidi's comments of: "Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks." Either Keisha threatened the pair of them in their beds - or they're feeble of mind and reduntant in matters of perspective.
Of course, things aren't always so black and white. There must be some underlying additional reason as to why Amelle's in a clinic, and it's her perogative whether she divulages them or not. But is it fair to let Keisha take all the blame?
Probably.
