Yes, that headline is 100% accurate.

A funeral service held in the city of Handan last month had a pretty unique flavour to its proceedings - an actual stripper performance.

Images, seen below, were circulated throughout Chinese websites that depicted a stripper performing in front of horrified parents and their children.

This isn't the first time such an event has took place.

Earlier this year, six strippers turned up at the funeral of an elderly man in China. The person involved in organising said strippers was fined 70,000 yuan - that's €10,404 in our money - and jailed for fifteen days.

In Chinese culture, the size of a crowd at a funeral is extremely important and is very much necessary for them to save face with locals.

Loud processions, marching bands and a boisterous atmosphere is encouraged to cause as much celebration for the departed as possible.

Inviting strippers, it seems, is a part of that.

The government, however, have ordered a crackdown on the practice of hiring strippers, saying that it's "obscene" and that they're corruptive of the social atmosphere.
