Watching a movie in the comfort of your own home is so last year, it's time to get out in the fresh air and enjoy a screening outdoors.

This year, an initiative from a group on Facebook is looking to bring the popular concept to these shores, by screening a movie on the beach in Dublin.

As of yet, the only confirmed details they've given on the page are that they're looking at August 2nd as the day they'll hold the event, while the page states that they will announce the location and further details in the coming weeks.

They do state that they want to keep tickets to a minimum as they "don't want to ruin the concept", but even at that there are already 27,000 people confirmed as attending (at time of writing) on the event page, so seating could get a bit tricky, we imagine.

As some social media users have already pointed out, the Irish climate is unfortunately not very well suited to hosting outdoor events.

Fair point, well made.
