Serial deep fat frier and butter fiend chef Paula Deen is no stranger to controversy, having hidden the fact that she contracted diabetes from her super fatty recipes all the while peddling them to the world, has now found herself in million dollar lawsuit filed by the manager of a restaurant in Georgia, USA alleging that Deen and her brother made black and white employees use separate bathrooms, told racist and sexist jokes and used the N-word like nobodies business. Nice.

Deen was questioned for over three hours in testimony for the case, and admitted to saying the N-word. And when she was asked why she would make statements about hiring black waiters to pretend to be 'slaves' at an 'old-school wedding' she actually said the following words.

The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie. I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America… after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War… It was not only black men, it was black women… I would say they were slaves.

In 2013. Out of the mouth of an educated, for all intents and purposes intelligent and functioning human being.

But what more can you expect from a woman who makes a 'Lady's Brunch Burger' out of two Krispy Kreme doughnuts, eggs and bacon and deep fries cheesecake as a treat.
