Those of you reading this who are of a, let me say, "certain" age will no doubt look back fondly on the days when you could go to your local shop armed with nothing but a handful of coins and bring home a veritable bounty of treats to feast upon. Sometimes it was actually a Bounty bar, other times it was literally a Feast ice cream. One thing we were well versed at doing was asking the local shopkeeper to give us our change in penny sweets and, if possible, to have it in Fruit Salads. To our young and naive brains, a one for one currency exchange between Fruit Salads and my pocket money was a good deal and our first real economic lesson. Plus, why would we want coins jingling around in our pockets when we could have Fruit Salads in there slowly getting warmed up by our body heat to their optimum chewing temperature.

So we really like Fruit Salads. Always have. So we're sure you'll imagine our profound delight when we caught our first glimpse of Scotland's new away jersey and noticed its uncanny resemblance to our favourite penny sweet.

Scotland's new away jersey

Impressive, right? Ireland could well have to face a Scotland team wearing their Fruit Salads jersey in Dublin as the two teams have been paired together in the draw for the next European Championships. Rumour has it that Ireland's jersey is going to be inspired by the noble batter sausage but our sources in the FAI are refusing to confirm this* but we think doing so would rank among John Delaney's better decisions in the hot-seat.

Still though, as good as Scotland's Fruit Salads jersey is it doesn't have a patch on Barcelona's away jersey which is clearly and undisputedly modeled on Rocket Lollies.

*We didn't actually ask any sources in the FAI about this. In fact, this entire article's truthiness can be called into question.
