I mean, what woman wouldn't be bowled over by this approach to seduction?

Amal Clooney has discussed how her husband George won her affections, and to say it's sweet - not to mention funny - is putting it mildly.

The details of the courtship between the human rights lawyer and the actor has been revealed in a new Vogue profile, explaining that they first met at a dinner gathering in Lake Como, where he has a home. After hitting it off, they exchanged emails and began dating in 2013.

Those early emails, however, saw Clooney responding to Amal's missives "with a clownish gambit, writing her repeated notes in the voice of his dog Einstein, who claimed to be trapped in various places and in need of legal rescue".

Genius.

She also revealed that their first date was in London, where they went to Abbey Road Studios (as you do) followed by dinner in a posh restaurant.

Of falling in love with him, she said: "It felt like the most natural thing in the world. Before that experience, I always hoped there could be love that was overwhelming and didn't require any weighing or decision-making.

"It's the one thing in life that I think is the biggest determinant of happiness, and it's the thing you have the least control over. Are you going to meet this person? I was 35 when I met him. It wasn't obvious that it was going to happen for me. And I wasn't willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that."

The pair married in Italy in 2014 and are parents to almost-one-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
