Last night, RTE screened Neil Jordan's 1996 not-even-a-little-bit historically accurate Michael Collins.

The film, which currently holds a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, became the talk of Twitter as people chimed in with their little witticisms on the film. 

 

In fairness, if it had been Scarlett Johansson or Amy Schumer, the war would have lasted centuries.

 

 

He's a charmer, that Collins lad.

 

 

Sure 'twas her flawless Irish accent that won it for her, so it was, faith and begorrah'.

 

 

I am going to count to ztreee... zer will not be a four.

 

 

Or even the crossover film which saw Michael Collins, George Washington and Simon Bolivar team up to former The Revolutionary Avengers.
