It makes complete sense when you think about it.

Of his new TV show, in which he goes alien hunting - seriously, this is happening - Ryder told Q Magazine: "I’ve seen a couple of things which defy explanation. They were not craft from this planet. It was in the late 70s in Salford. Lots of other people - including police officers - saw it too. Darting craft that came close and then zoomed off."

See, it was the 70s, so he wasn't off his bits on Es and whizz, 'cause they hadn't been made readily available at that point.

SKY News reports: "Ryder will travel to Peru, Chile and Australia to investigate UFO sightings. A source said: 'He'll try to separate fact from fiction and meet odd characters, some of whom make him look sane. It will be revelatory but funny'."

So who's broadcasting this mandatory viewing? Channel 5? Sky Living? Nay... Some genius at The History Channel has commissioned it.
