One of the most exciting football tournaments in the world, the Copa America pits the best teams in South America against one and it starts in a few short weeks.

All 26 games of the tournament will be live on Setanta here in Ireland, as 10 teams from South America’s CONMEBOL along with 2 guest nations from CONCACAF will compete in 3 Groups across 9 venues to determine the best team on the continent.

This year, the guest teams are Mexico and Jamaica, and the tournament kicks off on June 11th, stretching through to July 4th this year. With the disappointment of missing out on the World Cup last year, Argentina will be looking to confirm their dominance of the continent this year, but a humiliating exit from the tournament, held on their won soil, has seen Brazil return to former coach Dunga, whose emphasis is on solid, defensive football that makes them hard to beat. Colombia, along with their new star, James Rodriguez, will also look to assert themselves as a force, along with hosts Chile who also had a good World Cup last year. All of that makes for an extremely fascinating tournament.

In a bumper announcement, Setanta also confirmed that they will be showing WImbledon, starting this summer, as well as the French Open live from Roland Garros. The Open Championship will also be shown on the station for the next two years. They will also show the game between Ireland and England live from the Aviva Stadium on June 7th, as well as the European Games, starting June 12th.
