"There’s no easy way to say this and actually it doesn’t even feel real writing this, but here goes."

Singer turned model and actress Sarah Harding has cancer. Writing on social media, the performer says that earlier this year was when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. However, providing an update on her health situation earlier today, Harding has now said that the cancer has spread to other parts of her body.

Posting a number of updates to her followers and fans on Twitter, the 38-year-old first posted a picture of herself on a hospital bed where she is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Harding posted a number of updates, continuing: "Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.

"I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can. I understand this might be shocking to read on social media and that really isn’t my intention."

She also thanked "the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes," adding that she is doing her "very best to keep positive and will keep you updated here with how I’m getting on."

Harding's former bandmate Cheryl, whom she was in Girls Aloud with from 2002 to 2013, posted a broken heart emoji following the news.
