Russell, who just happens to be promoting his new book, imaginatively entitled Booky Wook 2 (which contains a glorified kiss and tell regarding this tryst with Kate Moss), got himself knicked in LAX for "tussling " with overly zealous paparazzi. That's totally organic promotional gold, that is.

The Mirror reports: "According to TMZ, the incident happened when Russell and Katy Perry were surrounded by a mob of paps at LAX. Russell allegedly got angry and began shoving photographers, until the paps placed him under citizen's arrest (do people still do that?) until police arrived. Russell was reportedly interviewed by the police and taken into custody for battery. He's since been released on $20,000 bail."

Of course, Katy took to Twitter shortly after the incident: "If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don'tf*ckwiththeBrands."

Naww, that's sweet. Especially since the paps could've easily waited until she was at the top of the escalator for a not at all easily accessible or readily made available up skirt shot.

As it happens, even though there were a load of photographers present, there are no shots to hand of the alleged scuffle.
