Looks like Jimmy Savile and Operation Yewtree have reared their ugly heads again, with news that Rolf Harris has been questioned by police over historical allegations of sexual abuse.

Originally questioned by police by appointment back in November, Harris was arrested and later bailed pending further enquiries until May on March 28th as part of the inquiry, with Harris' arrest apparently unrelated to that of Savile but still falling under the Yewtree umbrella. As of right now he has not been charged with any offences but investigations are continuing. British media apparently knew the name of the star when he was arrested but chose not to reveal it for legal reasons. Why this information is free to disclose today is not yet known.  Per Scotland Yard officials last month: 'An 82-year-old man from Berkshire was arrested by officers on Operation Yewtree on suspicion of sexual offences. He has been bailed to a date in May pending further inquiries. The individual falls under the strand of the investigation we have termed 'others'.

According to The Sun and BBC News, Harris has been under investigation for several months and vehemently denies any wrongdoing but is yet to make an official statement. He follows a string of older TV and media personalities arrested and questioned in the operation including Freddie Starr, Jim Davidson, Dave Lee Travis and PR guru Max Clifford. Channel 5 have since pulled all programming relating to Harris, saying 'While this legal matter involving Rolf Harris is on-going we have removed his shows from the Channel 5 schedule.'
