Robbie Keane is back in Dublin after winning yet another MLS title with the LA Galaxy, and he made some time to visit the children in Crumlin hospital last week.

As Ireland captain and the record goalscorer, he was obviously a popular man in the wards, in particular with Cody Nolan. Cody is a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer who, as you can tell from the picture with Robbie below, is a pretty huge fan of the Irish team, and the captain had an early Christmas present for him when he visited last week.

Writing on his Facebook, Keane said that "I had the privilege of visiting a number of patients in Crumlin Children's Hospital in Dublin. The highlight of my visit was meeting 9-year old CF patient Cody Nolan from Carlow. We chatted and took some photos and then I gave him an early Christmas present - I invited Cody and his family to join me in my box at Aviva Stadium for the Ireland v Poland match in March 2015. Get well soon Cody and see you in March."

Robbie also thanked the staff and everyone who works at the hospital for all their dedication, in particular at this time of year. The gesture obviously meant a lot to Cody, and to his mother Michelle, who posted on Facebook to say "Words can't describe the feelings both Cody and I had today. He had been so unwell the last few days and to see his little face light up when Robbie Keane walked through that door[...]Again words can't describe the feeling in my heart to look at Cody with Robbie".
