There's no doubt that Robbie Keane has been proving his worth to the LA Galaxy since he signed for them, and his consistently brilliant standard of play has been recognised by Sports Illustrated

This week, he was named the greatest ever import to Major League Soccer, ahead of global superstars such as Thierry Henry and David Beckham as the league enters its 20th season. The decision was made by several of the senior writers at the famous sporting magazine, including Grant Wahl, Brian Straus, Jeff Bradley and Alexander Abnos.

The only writer not to name Keane as the best foreign signing was Bradley, who chose Dwayne De Rosario instead, but Keane also won a spot in Grant Wahl's All-Time MLS XI, which is high praise for the Irishman.

His impact on the league was recognised last year in him being awarded the title of MVP, and he proved once again that he was worthy of the prize as he scored the goal that won the Galaxy another title in extra-time against the New England Revolution.

Hopefully, that'll be the end of all that 'unidentified fan' nonsense...
