Reese Witherspoon is 'trying to law low' after her arrest last week.

The 'Walk the Line' actress - who was charged with disorderly conduct after confronting a police officer who had arrested her husband Jim Toth on suspicion of DUI in Atlanta last week - is said to be 'devastated' by the events and is hoping things will blow over soon. A source told E! News: 'She is trying to lay low and spend time with her family. It's going to take her a long time to get over and she knows she let her family down.'

However, it seems the 37-year-old actress - who has seven-month-old son Tennessee with her CAA agent husband, as well as Ava, 13, and Deacon, nine, with ex-husband Ryan Philippe - is getting plenty of support from her friends.

The source added: '[She] has a very close network of girlfriends who are being very supportive and have been keeping her busy. She's trying to move on, but she's definitely nervous about the future.'

The 'Mud' star and her husband were pulled over by police in the early hours of Friday morning last week and Reese reportedly became agitated when the officer questioned Jim, 42, on suspicion of DUI. According to a police report, she said: 'Do you know my name? You are going to be on national news.' The actress later apologised for the incident, explaining that she had 'one too many' drinks and was 'deeply embarrassed' by her behaviour.
