Tis that time of year again, folks. Miriam O'Callaghan V David Norris... Dara O'Briain V Tommy Tiernan... The Script V The Republic of Loose - ooooh, who to choose!
This time around, Entertainment.ie has teamed up with The Scene (every Friday in The Star if you're interested) which sees some of Ireland's most famous faces battle it out for the most sought after awards of the year. What? It is. Now in their third year, the apocalyptic brawls begin to win these most coveted trophies, don't you know.
There are a number of categories this year, some of which will be familiar like Best Irish TV Show, Best TV Presenter, Best Irish Comedian and of course the most popular Raunchiest Radio Voice, which Rick 'the velvet voice' O'Shea currently holds.
There are a few new categories added to the elite list which include Best Irish Music Act sponsored by The Scene and Best Talk Radio Show, where Matt Cooper hopes to have the last word over the rest including The Adrian Kennedy Phone Show. The category for Best Presidential Candidate should prove to be a controversial one with John Bruton and David Norris canvassing for the job. Maybe even Miriam O'Callaghan will reconsider helming the country.
One of the new categories which is sure to provided you all with a much needed giggle is that for the most Over-Exposed Celebrity. Amanda Brunker and Lucy "AH, SANDWICHES!" Kennedy are up against Cheryl Cole, Lady GaGa, and Neil Prenderville for this stellar award.
Voting is as simple as ever. All you have to do is go to www.entertainment.ie/awards and place your vote. Every week The Scene will have an update on who is storming ahead of the pack. We also have loads of €100 vouchers to give away for all the best nationwide stores like Argos, Boots, BT2, Ikea, HMV, Woodies...
Voting closes on January 7th 2011, with the winners due to be announced on both entertainment.ie and The Star on Friday January 14th.
