A Polish cyclist who took part in the Tour de France received a bit of backlash after posting a picture to his Facebook page of his legs in some pretty amazing condition after a stage of the race.

Anyone who has ever pushed themselves to the limit on a particularly hard leg day might notice that they tend to have the odd vein here and there bulging out, something which you tend to notice after workouts in general. Well, when that workout happens to be a 90-mile cycle on a mountainous stretch of the Tour de France, you can expect that you might look a little something like this, maybe.

That was the photo shared by Polish cyclist Bartosz Huzarski on his Facebook page last week, and because the internet is full of people who feel like they should give their opinion on everything, he got a lot of negative feedback, as well as people accusing him of doping and saying that there's no way that could be healthy.

As a result, Huzarski responded by saying that of course he doesn't have legs like a "Victoria's Secret model" or your average person, since his job involves cycling all the time, and that after a hard race at high temperature, it's perfectly normal for your veins to appear much bigger, as both the heat and the fact that your muscles will bulge from exercise forces them closer to the skin.

Cristiano Ronaldo also had people looking at his legs last summer when during a preseason training camp he was snapped with his veins also bulging, but again, being a professional athlete means he's likely to look a bit different to your average punter.

If you really want, you could try the 90-mile cycle and see for yourself, we suppose...
