One of the biggest gripes we've had with the PlayStation 4 is how it didn't allow for backward compatibility with old PlayStation 2 or 3 games.

While it's understandable that Sony had to move on and needed to devote more technical manpower to making their system as good as it could possibly be, some sort of facility to play classic games would have been nice - either through the online store or some kind of virtual console like the Wii.

Thankfully, that's all about to change as Sony confirmed plans that they're working on a new emulation service for the PlayStation 4. Details are sketchy, but it is known that the newly-released Star Wars: Battlefront does have a bundle on offer that comes loaded with PS2 classics like Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter.

These games have been analysed by techie types and have confirmed that games are emulations, not straight ports of the game which confirms that PlayStation 4 has the ability to emulate old PS2 games. As to which games will be emulated in the future is anyone's guess.

We're holding out hope for Metal Gear Solid 3 and Ico. How about you? What PS2 classics would you like to be able to play on the PS4?
