I you hadn't heard, we're getting some new coins in 2016 to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
Four and a half million two euro coins will be manufactured and circulated throughout the year, and today The Central Bank released the design of the coin.
In 2016, it is likely you will have a 1916 centenary €2 coin in your pocket. https://t.co/LPBf0kZDqI pic.twitter.com/uNgW0xtBQN

The 1916 centenary collector coins will also be available, but don't go trying to use them in the shop. They'll be worth money some day. Yes, pun intended.
The collector coin will be available for purchase in March, although we haven't been told how much they'll cost, or how many are being put into production. Our guess is a lot and very few.
