You try to do something a little bit different - like wear a top with mesh shoulder inserts - and ALL you get is Twitter flack.

So Gay bible Attitude released the following covers of their upcoming edition featuring the One Directioner...

Needless to say, Twitter wasn't really in to the fact that he was fully clothed. In fact, Twitter was got the absolute RAGE over the choice of tops - which he invariably had no choice in wearing.

Then things got a little more heated...

Still it wasn't all bad...

That last comment may or may not have been in reaction to segments from said Attitude interview which read: "There were loads of rainbow flags flying at our shows, but I think that was mainly because people think of the Louis and Harry thing, which is absolutely nuts and drives me insane... I know it’s not true and it makes me mad... I get tagged in drawings of Louis and Harry being together. I remember one time I was sitting next to my dad and I see this picture of me on top of Niall [Horan], which was quite intimidating. It’s just really weird to have people drawing these sexually explicit pictures of us in strange situations... I don’t think it’s the right hobby for these girls to be enjoying.I find it very strange that someone so young can think up these stories or even imagine these things are going on. That for me is the sad and sorry side of what we have done."

Unsurprisingly, Liam received more serious backlash regarding his views...

Payne replied...

Can see people saying I'm playing 'the victim' I don't feel even 1% a victim at all I had a wonderful time doing the shoot ...
