It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since Steve Irwin, aka ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, tragically died after being stung in the chest by a stingray.

His daughter Bindi, aged eighteen, paid tribute to her father yesterday, which marked his tenth anniversary, by sharing a throwback picture of herself as a baby with him. In the emotive post, she calls Steve Irwin ‘[her] hero.’

You'll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe.

Steve’s wife Terri also paid homage to the world renowned wildlife expert. She tweeted the picture below of Steve with Bindi, when she was eight, and son Robert, when he was two.

His anniversary this year corresponded with Father’s Day in Australia.
