It's good to see that local police enforcement are on the ball when it comes to shoplifting these days because some offenders are just getting craftier and craftier.

One young man in Northampton thought he'd pulled off the perfect crime when he exited a shop with a venetian blind stuffed into the back of his hoodie and down his tracksuit bottoms.

In fact, he was so crafty about it that it's amazing the store's staff suspected him of any wrongdoing. The local police shared two images of the man attempting to leave the store in the lift.

Like seriously, what gave it away?

According to Northants Police, the man was followed by staff up a nearby canal path, where he dropped the blind before making off. Said blind was damaged as a result.
